What would external circumstances force us to consider and change to be our best more, that we could do now without waiting for the world to tell us?

For 2 days my phone wouldn’t charge beyond 50%. Both days I had to travel and so needed my phone to stay alive for the duration of the time. 

Never before have I considered how I use my phone so much. I checked it less, its functions were reduced to those of an ‘old-fashioned’ mobile: messages and calls. 

I considered how I used the battery.

It offers the common parallel to our own batteries.

How often do we consider how we use and charge our batteries? 

What charge do we start the day on?

What level of charge are we bringing into each moment? 

What does that all mean for what we choose to do next and what we need? 

What charges our battery and how regularly do we charge it? 

No doubt, how consciously we consider our battery the more likely it will be at the charge that allows us to be our best. 

Beyond the battery analogy, what about all the other things we don’t plan that force us to consider things that would enable us to be our best? 

This blog has talked about what we take for granted before and this question is along a similar line.

What would allow us to be our best that we often don’t consider?

What stops us considering this area? 

What would force us to consider it? 

What could we do now instead of waiting for the world to tell us to consider this area more? 

For example, what may be the injuries or illnesses that have made us consider how we look after ourselves? 

What about the times we move or through travelling consider what possessions we are holding onto rather than those we really need? 

What about the time plans that you have spent significant headspace and time toiling over go out of the window and everything still goes well and how that makes you consider how much you really need to plan? 

What is the thing or area that if you considered and were more conscious of you’d immediately start taking action that helped you be your best more? 

What would it be to be your best more? 

What is the area that if you changed, before external circumstances make you, it would free you up to be your best more?
